Book Week

Standard

The children in Year One, and the whole school have been working extremely hard over the past few weeks writing their books for Young Authors’ Day. Year One wrote and illustrated their own books using totally original ideas from their wonderful imaginations.

Please take a look at how the children designed, wrote and illustrated their books.

First the children made a story board for their book. The story board had six different sections so each story would have six parts. I always encourage the children to think of a beginning, middle and an end.

The children then typed their stories on the computer.

We then printed the stories and the children used watercolour paints to illustrate each page. They outlined their illustrations using black felt tip.

The finished books:

On Young Authors’ Day all the children dressed up as their favourite characters and everyone enjoyed reading all the books.
