As part of our ‘Oceans and Seas’ theme the children designed their own Treasure Island maps. They really enjoyed this and each map looked very original and creative.
The children learned about the features of maps, common symbols on maps, directional language and how to use a key to read a map. Afterwards we ripped the maps a little bit and dipped them in tea to make them look old.
Overall a lot of learning and a lot of fun.
